Driftless Market A Great Main Street Destination

 

The Driftless Market is located at 95 West Main Street in Platteville and features over 30 local and regional artists on consignment and will have homemade soup and warm drinks available for sale.

 The Capitola Review is a new, limited edition collection, published by River Current Press, "a collective on the Artistic Experience". In this first issue, published in the fall of 2008, you will find poems, prose, short stories, essays, philosophies, photographs, collages, paintings, sculptures, curiosities, notes and ephemera. Readings will be presented by artistic collaborators on this unique local publication, and will feature Lois R. Holland, Erin Falligant, Mark Miskelly, Richmond Powers, Bruce Rowe, and Judith Lary.

The Driftless Market, Platteville's newest business is located at 95 West Main Street. The Driftless Market is a local and natural foods grocery, providing area shoppers with convenient access to environmentally friendly produced foods and quality products from regional growers, producers, and artisans, as well as their own certified kitchen.

Owned and operated by 3 founding families, The Driftless Market is the result of a long standing vision for better access to healthy foods. High fuel costs, increased interest in environmental impacts, and a desire to keep food dollars local have placed renewed emphasis on purchasing foods and products that are local, healthy and environmentally friendly. The Driftless Market is committed to supporting the "buy local" concept by utilizing local producers and growers to ensure that customers are offered the healthiest and freshest possible products.

The Driftless Market fills a gap in Platteville and the surrounding area by making a full-range of natural food and other products available. Products will include: bulk foods and spices; gluten free and vegan choices; organic and naturally raised meat, dairy, and vegetables; homemade deli items; household, health and body care products; and a growing selection of regional artists work - all in a community friendly atmosphere.

A sampling of the Driftless Market's jams and baked goods are for sale at the Platteville Farmers Market on Saturday mornings from 7-Noon. These items are made in our certified kitchen. The Driftless Market's kitchen will be available to rent by special appointment, including information on contacts for appropriate licenses.

Stop in and meet Main Street's newest business owners and check out the wide range of products and services. During the Main Street construction access will be maintained through the side entrance on Court Street, just down the street from the post office.
